Claude Davis is interested in joining Crystal Palace permanently after enjoying a successful loan spell with the club.

“If the door is open I would come back. I enjoyed playing there and if I get the chance to do so again I will take it.

“I am still on contract at Derby but you can never say what the future holds. If Derby do not want me then I will have to go somewhere where they do.”

Davis was talking to the Croydon Guardian.

The 30-year-old is one of several players that Nigel Clough is likely to be looking to offload in the summer so if a deal can be agreed with Crystal Palace I couldn’t image we wouldn’t want to do this. The main problem seems to be Davis’ wage demands though, as Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has already expressed concerns at being able to afford these.

If the Jamaican is so keen on leaving for Selhurst Park permanently then he’d be willing to take a pay cut to do this wouldn’t he? Although with the greed that most players have these days, maybe not!
