Despite only just returning to fitness for Derby Kris Commons has been named on Scotland’s squad for their World Cup qualifier in Norway next week.

The 25-year-old featured, and scored, against Notts County last week and got a run out against Stoke on Saturday and this saw Commons called into George Burley’s 23-man squad, which highlights his importance to Scotland so they’ll be as happy as we are for him to be back playing again.

This call-up for Scotland’s trip to Olso will mean that Commons will miss out Carling Cup 1st round meeting with Rotherham United though.

  • Not best pleased that this means he’ll miss the Carling Cup match but what can you do? So long as he doesn’t come back injured that’s the main thing!
