Derby goalkeeper Ross Atkins, who actually played against us for Burton Albion, has returned to Pride Park.

Atkins had been training with Burton but with veteran goalkeeper Kevin Poole close to full fitness former Rams striker Paul Peschisolido, Burton’s boss, has confirmed that the League Two side don’t need him.

“Ross did extremely well in his short time with us but we really don’t have room for another keeper now that Kevin is on the mend.

“Kevin has improved a lot of late and I’m hopeful he could be involved in the first game of the season. Of course, we also have (Nottingham Forest loanee) Shane Redmond.”

Atkins is unlikely to feature for us in the near future, if he does at all in the future?
