Gary Rowett has had a number of Derby County`s Under 23 side training with the first team as he looks to assess his entire squad as pre-season training got back underway.

With The Rams` international contingent being given extra time off before being due to report back for training Rowett had promoted five of the Under 23 squad to train with the main squad. Offrande Zanzala, Fared Rawson, Jamie Hanson, Calum MacDonald and Mason Bennett have been training ahead of the trip to Tenerife with Rowett telling the Derby Evening Telegraph:

‘We had Farrend Rawson training with us, Calum Macdonald and Zanzala training with us, Mason and Jamie Hanson. There will be an opportunity for that type of thing, so if anyone progresses really well in the U23s, then of course there will be an opportunity for them to come into the first-team training group.”
