Derby County will not be involved in the Checkatrade Trophy this season after opting not to enter a team this time around.
The Rams entered an Under 21 side in the tournament last season ending bottom of their group after narrow defeats to Port Vale and Mansfield Town as well as a draw with Doncaster Rovers. With the list of teams for this seasons competition being announced earlier this week though Derby were not amongst the teams taking part this time around.
