The busy summer transfer period at Pride Park continued with two further deals reportedly close to completion bringing one player in with another in the opposite direction. Having already brought in Frank Fielding, Nigel Clough is close to further strengthening the goalkeeping department with the capture of Adam Legzdins from Burton Albion in a £200,000 deal. Former Birmingham City trainee Legzdins was voted Burton`s player of the year last season and his appearances have apparently caught the eye of the Derby management team with a deal expected early next week. The news of this deal being imminent casts further doubt on the future of Stephen Bywater who was allowed to go out on loan at the backend of last season after reportedly falling out with Clough over his continued mistakes costing vital points in his sides battle at the wrong end of the table.

Going in the opposite direction could be Miles Addison who looks set to join Barnsley on loan until January to regain some match fitness and get more games under his belt. Addison signed a new contract with The Rams only last week and Tom Glick has stated that the player has a big future at the club but with competition for places hotting up with a number of new recruits the youngster could be allowed to leave on a temporary basis. After struggling with a foot injury for much of the last twelve months Addison will be hoping to regain some of the form that he showed before the foot problems that have seen him only return to the squad at the backend of last season after being an integral part of the squad under Paul Jewell and Nigel Clough in The Championship.
