Ted mcMinn one of Derby, Queen of the South and Glasgow Rangers favourite players has undergone many trials and tribulations of late which are well documented on www.ted-mcminn.co.uk, surfice to say Ted has shown great courage to come through what he has been through and it is only right that there should be a game to raise funds for his 2 charities, The DRI amputee unit and The Murray foundation, who are a charity for amputees in Sccotland.

The Match promises to be a cracker, with many old favourites turning out for both teams.

‘Just a few short months after his operation , Ted has just finished a charity bike ride of over 300 miles , from Glasgow to Derby.

The ride started at Ibrox Stadium , the home of his former club Glasgow Rangers on Saturday 8th April and finished at Pride Park Stadium in Derby at lunchtime on Friday 14th April.

Money from the ride will be going to the amputee department at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary and the Murray Foundation that offers support for Scottish amputees.

Ted was joined on the ride by his wife , Marian (who is Secretary of Derby County Football Club) , former Rangers teammate Dave McKinnon (whose idea the bike ride was) and other friends.

Derby County Team News:

Derby manager, Arthur Cox expects to have Both Peter Shilton and Mart Poom available for tomorrows match. Mark Wright and Roy McFarland should both be fit too. With no injury worries either over Stuart Pearce or Igor Stimac at the back there should be a leak free defence in operation

In midfield Cox is hoping that Nigel Clough, Chris Waddle and Stefano Eranio will play, with Tommy Johnson turning out against his old firm rivals having played for Celtic. Garry Micklewhite is also available to bolster the wings

Up front the ever reliable duo of Bobby Davison and Kevin Hector will provide the potent striking force with Paul Goddard and Dean Saunders being available to fill in too

Ally McCoist welcomes Chris Woods back into goal, with Andy Goram snapping at his heals for action. Terry butcher plays, without the white headband, McCoist, Ian Ferguson and John brown all came through training as did Mark Walters Mark Hateley and David McPerson.

Ray Wilkins and Trevor Steven are in contention, with Gordon Durie looking for a game too. Paul Gascoigne will add flair to the Midfield too
