John Eustace will not be signing for Derby this summer with Nigel Clough confirming he’ll return to Watford. A possible return on loan next season hasn’t been ruled out though.

“We will not be signing him permanently.

“He’s got a year left at Watford. If ‘s still in the same situation at the start of next season, needing a loan, then we might look at that.

“But I think we have other priorities at the moment.”

Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

During his two-month loan spell Eustace featured nine time, making six starts, with his only goal coming against the side that he joined us on loan from, Watford, on Sunday.

The midfielder did what was asked of him at Derby, but like Clough has said other areas are more of a priority to strengthen but with Watford likely to want to get rid of him over the summer if they cant do that and we’re still interested I wouldn’t be surprised to see him return on loan again.
