Derby County fans have been increasingly concerned in recent weeks about the lack of transfers coming into the club.

The Rams have already sold Andreas Weimann and released Jason Shackell, Darren Bent and Chris Baird, all of whom are presumed to have been on the top wage earners at the club, so why has Frank Lampard and his backroom staff been dragging their heals when it comes to bringing in fresh talent into Pride Park?

One reason may be the collapse of transfer talks with Leeds United over Matej Vydra but Lampard insists players will be brought into the squad as and when the right players become available, which leaves him a little short of four weeks to tie those signings down.

Happy with pre-season and the training camp in Tenerife Lampard is looking forward to starting his on-field managership in tomorrow’s pre-season friendly¬† at the County Ground, Nottingham KO 3.00pm
