On Sky

The Rams travel to the KC Stadium looking for their first victory of the season, as are the home side in what promises to be an edgy affair in front of the Sky cameras.

This match pits two of the brightest young managers in the country together – Billy Davies & Phil Parkinson. Parkinson led Colchester to promotion to the Championship last season, and is eager to enhance his reputation at the KC Stadium.

However, the Tigers have made a disappointing start to the season, even more so than the Rams – a 2-0 reverse against WBA on day 1 was followed by a more unexpected defeat at home to Barnsley, throwing away a 2-0 lead to eventually lose 3-2.

Vital Quotes:

Hull City Team News:

Hull will be without their captain Damian Delaney (ankle), with former Spurs defender Alton Thelwell standing by.

Hull’s attack will once again be led by ‘The Beast’ Jon Parkin.

Player to watch: Jon Parkin

‘The Beast’ will look to add to his 2 goals in midweek.

Derby County Team News:

More changes expected after the woeful display at Stoke – new signing Dean Leacock may figure, however the other new man Mo Camara did not register in time for this game.

Inigo Idiakez will hope for a recall after only being on the bench at Stoke – £1m man Steve Howard will be looking to open his Rams account in front of the TV cameras.

Tommy was one of the better performers on Tuesday night, and Rams fans hope he can terrorise the Hull defence with his trademark probing runs.

Match Facts & Stats

Match Prediction:

After getting the Stoke prediction horribly wrong, it would be easy to sit on the fence and go for a draw but no, I’m sticking my neck out – 2-1 to Derby with at least 1 of the goals scored by Steve Howard.
