Tom Glick remains resolute in his belief that Nigel Clough is the man to take Derby County forward with speculation surrounding the manager with a new deal yet to be signed. After a fine start to the season that sees The Rams currently sat in third place in the early Championship table players and fans alike have shown their support for Clough with calls for a new contract to be offered with this current deal set to expire in the summer.

Clough, and those higher up in the club, have gone on record stating that the deal will be discussed in due time and there is no rush with the board giving their full support to the Derby manager. Talking to Radio Derby about the deal Glick assured fans that the deal will be done and that Clough would remain at Pride Park saying:

‘We are convinced Nigel is the guy for the long term. We haven’t put a timetable out in public but we would hope to sort something in very good time. We are all aware he is out of contract in the summer but it is not a distraction for him or ourselves. We have been consistent in our commitment to Nigel that he and his coaching staff are the right guys for our football club and nothing has changed.’
