Carson Extends Pride Park Stay

Scott Carson has put pen-to-paper on a new contract that will keep him at Pride Park until the summer of 2020.

The deal, with an option for a further year, is reward for this recent form and his overall impact since joining the club from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015. Carson was named Sky Bet Championship Player-of-the-Month for December and has kept 13 clean sheets from 28 appearances so far this campaign and has made 117 appearances in total for The Rams.

Talking to dcfc.co.uk about his new deal Carson said:

“I`m delighted to commit my future to Derby County and it was a straightforward decision. As soon as I was asked the question about signing a new contract my mind was made up. I`ve said it a million times since I joined that I`m really happy here, I`m enjoying my football and I really want that to continue.”
