Carabao Cup 4th round draw

|

The 4th Round of the Carabao Cup was drawn last night and for their heroic 3rd round penalty shootout win over Manchester United, Derby County have been drawn against Chelsea in the 4th Round of this Years competition.

The draw was made at a rather strange time of 9.00pm on a Saturday evening and Derby were the third last ball drawn out. The last two being near neighbours Burton Albion and Nottingham Forest.

Derby must now hope that the spirit and determination that saw them past United returns as they take on five times winners of the competition Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The trip will be a walk back to familiar territory for Rams boss Frank Lampard, as he returns to a club which he played 429 times for and scored 147 goals in a career that last 14 years at the Bridge. In that time he won a European Cup, Europa Cup, 3 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups and the League Cup on 2 occasions.

The Rams have never won the league cup, or Carabao Cup as it has now been named and will need another terrific effort to get into the last 16 of the competition this season.
