Joey Barton took time out of his promotion celebrations to give his thoughts to the distraught Derby County players after a dramatic finish at Wembley.
Having played the last thirty minutes with ten men and even manager Harry Redknapp admitting that they were hoping for extra-time and penalties QPR snatched an unlikely win through Bobby Zamora’s injury time strike. Barton admits that his side were fortunate to edge the match saying:
‘We have a habit of doing it the hard way. I knew we would do it but I feel sorry for Derby, they played fantastic today and they deserved to win. That could have been us.’
