The transfer deadline saw two players leave Derby with the one coming in.

19-year-old midfielder Arnaud Mendy joined Tranmere on loan for an initial one-month spell.

The surprise departure, in some ways, was Rob Hulse who finally saw the move that many reports have been saying has been on the cards for months come off. The 30-year-old joined QPR for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year contract.

Alberto Bueno signed on a season-long loan from Real Valladolid, as had been expected. The 22-year-old, who has represented Spain at all levels from U17-U21, arrives with Nigel Clough most pleased.

“We’re delighted to welcome Alberto to Derby County.

It’s a real coup for us that we’ve managed to bring him here. A lot of hard work has gone into this deal and it is great news we’ve managed to secure his signature because other teams across Europe were interested in him.

He is going to need time to adapt to the English game, but we believe he will bring something to our team and make an impact.”

Clough was talking to the official website.

It was a quiet day at Pride Park, however, this was expected really we’ll just have to hope that Bueno becomes the missing piece of the puzzle.
