The Tale Of Two Sides

Derby kicked off pre-season with a 1-0 win at Burton Albion on Saturday, but it was a tale of two side as each half saw a completely different XI apart from two players.

Chris Porter, who made sure with an effort from trialist Patrick Kisnorbo looking like it was going in anyway, scored the only goal of the game in the first half in a match that saw the Rams field 24 players in total! Kisnorbo and fellow trialist Mark Fotheringham were the only players to feature in the full 90 minutes.

Lee Croft and Dean Moxey played their first matches for Derby from the start, but both came off at half time, with Giles Barnes also starting after his return from an injury-ravaged loan with Fulham. Dean Leacock made his return from injury to start.

Trialist Saul Deeney took over in goal for the second half and another new signing Jake Buxton also featured. Jay McEveley, Steven Davies and Paul Green made returns from long-term injuries and Liam Dickinson, who seems set for a move to Brighton, had a second half run-out.
