Fans are shocked and disappointed at the news that Gary Rowett is in talks to manage Stoke City. The former Burton and Birmingham City boss was last night given permission to hold talks with the Potteries club who seek a new manager following their drop out of the Premier League.
Fans are also surprised that he is interested in taking over another Championship side after speculation earlier last season that he may be good enough to take on a Premiership managers role.
Here is what some fans had to say on the matter:
Honestly if Gary Rowett leaves to go to Stoke there is no commitment left in football, all the times he said he always wanted the Derby job and has always loved the club. Job 1/2 done here, i could understand a prem club but why would he throw it away for Stoke? #dcfc #dcfcfans

So the next stage has to be who Rams fans want as their new manager, many names have been bandied about on social media including Sam Allardyce, David Moyes, Carlos Carvalhal, Mick McCarthy and former Athletico Madrid manager, Quique Sanchez Floris.
Not quite sure we can attract all of those names but whoever he is there will be plenty of work for him to do during the Summer.
