Chris Porter hasn’t had the start to his Derby career that he would’ve wanted, or at least hoped for, as this has been ruined by injuries.

The 25-year-old has been limited to just three starts since his arrival from Motherwell in January due to injury, which has seen him undergo surgery on his hip in a bid to cure this problem. The operation has been a success though.

“It turned out that there were a few things wrong with my hip

There were two pieces of bone that shouldn’t have been where they were, so they have been removed and the operation was a success.”

Porter had this surgery three weeks ago but he’s happy with the progress he is making so far and is now targeting a return in time for the Christmas matches as he looks to get his Rams career back on track as he doesn’t want to be a “forgotten man”.

“I don’t want to be the forgotten man. Being out injured is frustrating after a good start to my Derby career.

I just want to get back to how I was playing in my first few games.”

Porter was talking to the official website.

Nigel Clough made the striker his first signing after his arrival as our boss so this means that Porter is someone that he rates very highly, so Clough will be as pleased as anyone to have him back and fully fit and we’ll all then hope to see the best of him!
