Paul Jewell was pleased to see Derby extend their unbeaten home record after a 2-2 draw with Preston on Tuesday, but he wasn’t happy with the goals conceded.

‘It was a crazy first half, the first time we got in their box we scored. Although they were 2-1 ahead and deserved to be, the manner of their goals was a joke.

‘In the second half for the first 25 minutes, we played very well and looked more of a threat although they finished strongly.

‘I thought the second half from our point of view was better and it was important we didn’t lose the game after Saturday’s defeat at Ipswich because we are still rebuilding here.

‘We lost to Preston 4-1 in the FA Cup last season. They are a decent team and I’m not unhappy with a point.

‘We are still unbeaten at home since August and this keeps the run going.’

Jewell was talking after the match.
