There has been mixed news this week in terms of injuries ahead of the televised clash with Portsmouth. Alberto Bueno looks set to miss out with an ankle injury that forced him off in the first half of the victory over Watford with his chances rated at 50-50 of making the side and fellow loanee Luke Moore also looks likely to not be included due to a slight hamstring strain. Nigel Clough does not want to risk causing longer term damage to either player and told the Derby Evening Telegraph:

‘We will see how Alberto is on Friday morning but he is doubtful, he got another kick on the ankle against Watford last Saturday and it flared up again?. Alberto has a better chance than Luke because his injury is more of a knock than a strain but you have to think about the further damage they could do.”

On a more positive note Miles Addison has made himself available for the upcoming fixture after postponing an operation on his injured foot to remove the screws that have been causing his discomfort since his return to full training. With cover still at a minimum with Jake Buxton and Russell Anderson both side-lined Clough wanted the youngster as potential cover should he be needed, again talking to the Telegraph he commented:

“He has been training with the first team and looks physically in great shape but he is suffering a bit of discomfort in the foot because of the screws that are in there and they do need to come out. In the meantime, he will be available for the squad in the short-term, if we need to call on him.”
