Paul Green looks set to add to his five caps after being named in the starting line-up for the Republic of Ireland`s clash with Russia tonight and if he performs well should keep his place for the Slovakia match on Tuesday night. Ireland have taken maximum points from their two qualifiers so far but Green told the Derby Evening Telegraph he knows the games will be a challenge:

‘It’s going to be two tough games for us against Russia and Slovakia but we’re looking forward to it. It’s always nice to play for your country and it will great to be involved again.’

Green has shown his versatility so far this season after playing in the middle and on the right of the attacking three in midfield and also covering at right back in the last couple of games for The Rams with injuries forcing first choice right back John Brayford to cover in the centre of defence.
