Nigel Clough has revealed that a fresh approach for Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Frank Fielding is planned in January.

Clough had been keen on the England U21 during the summer but a deal was never agreed, but with Derby in the market for a third goalkeeper, even if this isn’t desperate, Fielding could be an option in January.

“We are not looking for a third goalkeeper at the moment, we will probably go back to Blackburn in January and see if there is any movement with that one.”

Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

We still have Saul Deeney as back-up for Stephen Bywater but with Clough keen to loan out Ross Atkins he’d like to bring in the 21-year-old.
