Paul Dickov was praised by Nigel Clough last week and now the veteran striker has revealed that he’d be happy to stay at Pride Park.

The 37-year-old’s loan end in January but Dickov is enjoying his time at Derby and would be happy to stay if we wanted this.

“It’s no secret I enjoy it here. I knew a lot of the lads already and I get on well with everybody.

What happens in January is something other people are saying to me more than I am thinking about myself.

I am probably halfway through my loan. I have just got to concentrate and get a run of games under my belt. I have started the last three and I need to get more games before I even start thinking about January.

As long as I am playing and involved, everybody knows I will be giving my all.”

The former Scottish international said he was “loving it” with us but is most happy at still playing at the age of 37, and actually says he’s feeling as fit as ever!

“If somebody had told me when I started out that I would still be playing first-team football at 37, I would have snapped their hand off.

I am playing and really enjoying it. I feel as fit as I have done in a long time.”

Dickov was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

I’ve been quite impressed with him and you do always know what you’ll get from him. I said last week that I’d be happy for him to stay with us until the end of the season and these views haven’t changed.
