Rams boss Nigel Clough is pleased with the business the club has done in the January transfer window, which slammed shut at 5:00pm, punctuated by the loan signing of midfielder Michael Tonge. The Rams also signed young Man City defender Javan Vidal and released Aleksander Prijovic to allow him to join FC Sion.

Talking to the official club website, Clough said: ‘We are happy with the business we have done during January and believe the balance of the squad is good and in a healthy position to take us forward. The players we have brought in during the month have improved us and added depth to the team.

Clough also revealed that the club’s transfer dealings for the season may not be over: ‘There are still a number of deals in the pipeline, which we may pursue when the emergency window opens again in one week’s time or we may wait and conduct our business in the summer.

‘I would say it is a possibility that we will be adding more faces to the squad before the season is over. It was always the plan and strategy to have a sensible and responsible window and that is exactly what we have done.’
