Nigel Clough is hopeful that Paul Connolly will be fit to return for the Midlands derby with Leicester a week Saturday.

The former Plymouth Argyle full back has missed our last two Championship matches with a foot injury but Clough feels he “has a chance” of being fit for the trip to the Walkers Stadium, after the international break, on October 17th (Saturday).

Connolly is back in training and running at speed but unless he is able to strike the ball at full power he’d not be considered as the Rams boss doesn’t want to take any risks, with both the player and the team in mind.

It would be good to have him back though as we’ve had terrible injury problems recently and are running out of players!
