Carabao Cup drawn in Vietnam
Derby County will play Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park in the week commencing 13th August in this season’s first round of the Carabao Cup.
This is the 59th season of the Football League Cup (now EFL) Sponsored by Carabao, a competition that the Rams have never won
The draw was made in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The competition will also use VAR throughout the competition enabling referees to get an instant second look at major incidents and get the correct decision on balls over the goal line etc.
The draw takes place overseas to try and drum up more interest in the competition from the overseas market. Steve McManaman, Louis Saha and Dennis Wise performed the draw.
