Baird: Team Can Still Do Better

Chris Baird thinks that pre-season is going well despite the defeat to Northampton Town but knows the team can improve before the big kick-off.

Speaking to dcfc.co.uk after the friendly defeat on Tuesday evening Baird was keen to point out the positives despite the result but admitted that team has areas to improve on before they take on Sunderland in just over a weeks time. The experienced defender said:

“As a team, I think there are things that we can still do better. The manager will be working on that on the training pitch, but in terms of individual performances, there have been some really, really, good ones. The new boys have come in and settled straight away, which is great, and we have come along way over a tough pre-season. It`s been enjoyable and we`re just really looking forward to the start of the new season.”
