Winnall Wants To Repay Rams

|

Sam Winnall is working his way back from an ACL tear suffered in February and whilst he will miss the rest of the season he has spoken of this desire to repay the faith Derby County have shown in him.

Winnall moved to Pride Park on loan in the summer transfer window and has scored six goals since the temporary switch to The Rams. The striker suffered the injury during the 3-0 victory over Brentford and he has remained with Derby whilst undergoing his rehabilitation from the operation.

Whilst the terms of his loan didn’t appear to contain an agreement for a permanent deal at the end of the period Winnall has hinted he may want to remain with The Rams beyond the short-term deal telling the Derby Evening Telegraph:

‘Everyone has been so supportive and really helpful with this process. Not just the lads that are in the dressing room but the lads behind the scenes that don’t get noticed, like the physios, the management staff and the player liaison staff. That is why I am trying to work as hard as possible because I want to get back on the pitch and repay the faith that these guys have shown in me.’

Can’t be easy being on loan and then being confined to the treatment room can it?
