Five of Derby County’s first team squad have contracts up in the summer, should manager Gary Rowett look to keep any of the players?
The Derby Evening Telegraph posted details of the end point of all contracts for the squad earlier this week with five of the current first team squad currently not contracted beyond this summer:
With Darren Bent and Jason Shackell commanding large wages and currently out on loan it would seem likely their future lies elsewhere but of the other three is it worth keeping them around?
Chris Baird has battled with Andre Wisdom for the right-back spot with appearances split fairly evenly over the season so far whilst Jamie Hanson and Kelle Roos have both spent time out on loan over the last eighteen months although more with an eye to gain first team experience than being surplus to requirements in Hanson’s case.
With Rowett likely to need to move players on before bringing anyone else in would it be worth keeping any of these players beyond the summer?
