Weimann first sale of the closed season for the Rams

Andreas Weimann, makes a £2m move to Bristol City

The Rams have completed their first sale of the closed season selling Andreas Weimann to Championship rivals Bristol City.

A fee said to be around £2m and add-ons. Derby bought Weimann from Aston Villa for around £3.4m, so yet again the Rams make a loss on a player. Derby has however lightened the load on their wage bill by off-loading Weimann and may continue to do so in the coming weeks before the new season starts.

It is unknown if any cash for new boss Frank Lampard will be made available, but it is widely thought that loan players may be the way Derby County go for the coming season.

Tammy Abrahams, has been mentioned but the young striker may well be on a decent wage and was on loan to Premiership Swansea last season. Abrahams, now back at his mother club Chelsea may, however, like to link up with his old mentor, Jody Morris. Under Morris Abrahams was part of the very successful Chelsea u23 side in the last couple of seasons.
