Jamie Ward has become the latest player to extend his deal by putting pen to paper on a two year extension that will see him remain at the iPro Stadium until the summer of 2016.

Ward has made 122 appearances for The Rams and scored 28 goals in total since joining on an initial loan from Sheffield United under Nigel Clough and had one year to go on his current deal. He has been used in the wide attacking areas since Steve McClaren came to the club and played an im-portant part in Derby`s run to the play-off final last season. The Rams` Head Coach told dcfc.co.uk:

“He has proved to be an important player for us during the last year and it`s pleasing that he has re-committed to the cause. He is a threat to opposition defences and is a strong attacking option for us in the formation that we play.”
