Nathan Tyson scored the winning goal against Birmingham City on Saturday after coming on for Theo Robinson and is now looking for more starts alongside Conor Sammon in the Derby frontline.

Tyson suffered a slow start to his Rams career due to injury last season and struggled to make the side even when fit towards the end of the season. After doing well in pre-season he was used sparingly in the opening months of this campaign but he has made an impact coming off the bench and his late strike in front of the SkySports camera’s was his fourth goal of the season. Tyson’s fitness has been much better this time around and he told the Derby Evening Telegraph:

‘I’ve had a slow start but, hopefully, I can pick it up and get a few more starts. All I can do is keep my head down and keep plugging away. The gaffer’s got a few hard decisions to make. You get itchy feet sat on that bench sometimes but it’s good to come on, score and get that win – and that is the most important thing.’
