Nathan Tyson is set to join Millwall on loan for the rest of the season with the deal looking set to go through on Thursday after the striker travelled to London to work out the finer details of the deal.

Tyson joined The Rams on a free transfer in the summer of 2011 after turning down a contract offer at Nottingham Forest but suffered an injury hit season. Having returned to full fitness over the summer and playing a part in pre-season Tyson looked set to be more involved this season but he has not been part of Nigel Clough`s plans and has made only five starts with a further twelve appearances from the bench scoring five goals in the process. With The Rams having a number of options up front Clough decided it would be better for the striker to go out on loan and told dcfc.co.uk:

“We have Jamie Ward, Conor Sammon, Theo Robinson, Michael Jacobs and Mason Bennett all vying for a spot in attack, so Nathan would`ve continued to have limited chances to start so we feel this is a good chance for him to go and play regularly for the rest of the season.”
