Jack Marriott wanted by the Rams but three bids in Peterborough still won’t sell him.
Derby County has had an interest in division one striker Jack Marriott for a while following his goalscoring exploits for Peterborough last season.
The 23-year-old striker banged in 27 goals last season for the Posh in 44 games. The 5ft 8 in front man’s goals did little to lift Peterborough up the League One table, the club eventually finishing in 11th place.
Peterborough United are now ready to listen to offers for their top scorer but are said to be asking a very high price for a striker in the third tier of English football.

Derby has now made three bids for Marriott but each one has been rejected by Peterborough. The fee involved is said to be too low and subsequent alterations have made little improvement. Marriotts services would only be available for a bid of around £6m, which may be a tad on the expensive side for an untried striker at Championship level. The Rams value him much less at around £3m.
One stumbling block in the negotiations would seem to be selling Matej Vydra, the cooled interest in the Championships golden boot winner from Leeds United may have had an effect on just how much Derby was will to go up to in their chase of Marriott and with no further offers for him at the moment there would seem to be a stalemate in further talks or offers.
