Derby County are looking to add to their squad and have reportedly gone back with improved bids for two of their summer targets.

Reports in the Birmingham Mail suggest that a second bid has been made for midfielder George Thorne who spent the last part of last season on loan at the iPro Stadium and made a big impact as The Rams reached the Play-Off Final at Wembley. An initial bid reported at the £1million mark was turned down as has an improved offer of £1.2million according to the Birmingham Mail as Alan Irvine looks to keep hold of the youngster.

Late last week it was announced that Derby were also interested in taking Lukas Jutkiewicz from Middlesbrough but after an initial bid was declined they have returned with a second offer of £1.5million according to the Chronicle Live website. Jutkiewicz would add another option up front for Steve McClaren whose side were leading scorers in the Championship last season.
