Nigel Clough is hoping to give Chris Riggott a run out against Morecambe this evening as Derby County`s pre-season preparations continue with a visit to Christie Road to take on the League Two side. Riggott joined in full training on Wednesday as The Rams used Wigan Athletics` Christopher Park training ground as part of their build-up for the friendly encounter and he is feeling fit and ready to go according to Derby`s manager. Clough wants the former Derby man to prove his fitness after recovering from a back operation and earn a contract with the club he supported as a youngster. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph he said:

‘If everything goes well he is down to start and maybe play 45 minutes, which would be a great boost. Chris trained Wednesday and if he comes through Friday morning’s session and feels happy, we will get him out there for some part of the game against Morecambe. If he is going to play some part, he might as well start the game and see how he feels towards half-time.’
