Rams winger heads South West

Rams winger Gary Teale has joined Championship side Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season.

Teale, who has been named in George Burley’s first Scotland squad, has struggled to hold down a first team spot at Pride Park, having not started a Premier League game since January 2nd , since when his only starts have come in the FA Cup.

The 29-year-old was in the Argyle squad for Tuesday night’s Championship match with Southampton at St Mary’s, and Rams boss Paul Jewell sees the winger’s move to the South West as a well-timed one and will be good for both parties.

‘He’s lost a bit of confidence and he needs to go and play some football,’ Jewell told BBC Radio Derby.

‘Gary’s had limited first team opportunities. I had him at Wigan and he’s a terrific lad.’
