FA Cup Fourth Round
Saturday, 26th January 2008, 3pm
Pride Park

The Rams earnt Saturday`s fourth round tie against Preston North End the hard way on penalties against Sheffield Wednesday. It was Paul Jewell`s first win at the club and he will hope to continue the winning ways on Saturday (3pm) at Pride Park.

Ahead of the cup clash Paul Jewell has warned the Rams will go out of the FA Cup at home to Preston – unless they get their act together.

Jewell had to read the riot act at halftime at Hillsborough to spark a recovery capped by the penalty shoot-out win.

He said: ‘We’ve a home game now against a team down the bottom of the Championship but it won’t be easy – it never is.

‘If we play like we did in the first half at Sheffield Wednesday, we’ll get knocked out. But if we play like I know we can play, we’ll have a chance.

‘We’re a bit embarrassed by our standing in the Premier League, a million miles away from where we want to be. The FA Cup is keeping our season alive.’

The Rams will have their new signing, Robbie Savage, Emanuel Villa, Laurent Robert and Hossam Ghaly available tomorrow and if Mile Sterjovski international clearance arrives before Friday the Australian will also be brought into the squad.

It looks like Danny Mills will be unavailable due to injury along with long term casualties Jay McEveley, Stephen Bywater and Tyrone Mears.

Tickets are available for the clash prices for all areas of the ground will be £15 for adults, & £10 for seniors and young adults, and £5 for juniors (16 and under).

Preston reached the fourth round with a 1-0 home victory against Scunthorpe with Simon Whaley on target.

They have struggled in the league this season and they currently sit third from bottom in the Championship on 27 points and are coming off a 1-3 defeat at the Britannia Stadium against Stoke City last weekend.

Boss Alan Irvine has been busy trying to bring players to Deepdale and at present has brought in Chris Brown from Norwich City and Richard Chaplow from West Borm, and he hopes to bring in a few more before the window closes.

Their last visit to Pride Park North End drew 1-1 on September 16th 2006 in a Championship match. Steve Howard gave the Rams the lead from the spot on 43 minutes, but two minutes later Danny Pugh levelled.

Some North End fans will be travelling to the game free thanks to E.ON, one of the UK’s leading energy suppliers and Sponsor of The FA Cup. They are offering free coach travel with National Express for fans heading to this weekend’s FA Cup Fourth Round tie at Derby County, as part of its Carbonfootyprint.com campaign.

The offer, launched ahead of the Third Round, proved a success with over 750 away fans pledging to leave their car at home and travel by coach to FA Cup fixtures around the country. By travelling together by coach rather than taking their cars, fans saved over 32 tonnes of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of watching 123,000 football matches on TV.
