The Rams are duo back at pre-season training in a week and no new signings have made it to Pride Park so far. With the future of Rams Coach Billy Davies still up in the air the transfer talk is rumour more than fact, but in this weekends paper the Rams have been linked to three players that could strengthen the squad.

The Mail on Sundayhas reported the Rams are chasing West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jason Koumas, who was the star in the play-off final for Albion against the Rams. The Welsh international Koumas is available at £4.5m and Wigan, who had a £4m bid turned down, are expected to come back in for the player, along with the Rams. He would be a great signing for the Rams, and the figure reported would be within the Rams budget.

It`s also reported the Rams are chasing Bolton’s Portuguese striker Ricardo Vaz Te. The Mirror says Vaz Te is available at a cut-price £1million as Bolton boss Sammy Lee has said he will be on the outer at the Reebok next season.

Vaz Te has made 48 substitute appearances for Bolton but rarely starts, and the Rams boss Billy Davies feels the former Sporting Lisbon player Vaz Te’s pace would boost his forward line.

There has also been growing speculation that Andy Todd may be heading to Pride Park, after falling out of favour with Mark Hughes and losing his first-team place at Rovers last season.
The 32-year-old made only 13 appearances for Blackburn last season and has now been told he is do longer required at Ewood Park and has been given the go-ahead to find a new club after talks with the Rovers boss this week.

Todd’s agent, Peter Harrison, told BBC Sport: “Andy has spoken with Mark Hughes and, if the deal suits everyone concerned, he will be on his way out.
‘He won’t go for free as there is a year left on his contract but a couple of clubs are already interested.”

Todd is currently on holiday but Harrison expects a deal to be done soon after he returns. A number of Premiership clubs have been linked with Todd, including the Rams in January, while Harrison refused to rule out a move away from England’s top league after rumoured interest from SPL side Rangers in January.

Harrison added: ‘I don’t think there have been any concrete offers for Andy as of yet but he isn’t in the country at the moment.
‘We’ll see what happens over the next few days but I would definitely expect developments within two weeks.’
