Rams stars playing for their future.

Its decision time at the Rams and five players could soon find out if they have a future at Derby County beyond this season.

The contracts of Seth Johnson, Morten Bisgaard, Paul Boertien, Lee Grant and Paul Peschisolido all expire in the summer and coach Billy Davies has to way
up if they are to stay at Pride Park.

Johnson, 27 joined the Rams from Leeds and Bisgaard, have both been regular starters for the Rams and Boertien has won the left-back position after a number of solid performances, keeping out summer signing Mo Camara. He has battled his way back from two serious knee injuries and has been in the starting line-up for the last six matches.

Grant made six consecutive starts earlier this season but is seen as second choice goalkeeper to Stephen Bywater, and with Lee Camp returning from his loan spell at Norwich City the second goalkeeping spot is up for grabs.

Peschisolido has only made three starts in the first 11 games before suffering a thigh injury. The 35-year-old is fit again and has been on the bench in the last two matches, is it time to bring youth through the ranks or has Davies got his eye on a striker to help Howard and Stead.

The coach says he is keen to let players know their futures in December and January.

‘That is still the plan and we will be sitting down with the players,’ said the manager.
