Five of Derby County`s squad made their international debuts last night with Conor Sammon and Valentin Gjokaj playing from the start and three others coming off the bench to earn their first cap.

Sammon played the full ninety minutes for the Republic of Ireland in their 2-0 victory over Poland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and he was joined by his two teammates in the second half. Jeff Hendrick played the last twenty minutes and created Ireland`s second goal whilst Richard Keogh was introduced with five minutes to go.

Theo Robinson, called up by Jamaica, also made his debut in the World Cup qualifier against Mexico in the Estadio Azteca as a substitute for the last half an hour in the 0-0 draw whilst young central defender Valentin Gjokaj played for ninety minutes for Albania Under 21`s in their goalless draw with Macedonia.
