It was a weekend off for most Billy Davies squad, but a number of players were on international duty over the weekend, with contrasting results for all of them.

New signing Gary Teale was in the starting line-up for Scotland`s Group B Euro 2008 qualifier against Georgia at Hampden Park. It was a successful game for Teale and the Scots when they beat Georgia 2-1. Teale set up the opening goal for Celtic`s Kris Boyd’s opener, and should have scored a second for Alex McCleash`s side, before former Rangers man Shota Arveladze equalised shortly before half time. He was substituted after an hour, and Craig Beattie’s late winner ensured Scotland remained top of the Group, going into Wednesday’s clash with World Cup winners Italy.

It was not such a good day for Derby defender Lewin Nyatanga, who is on loan at Barnsley – he is eligible to play in Saturday`s clash against the Rams – who played 90 minutes for Wales in the 1-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland at Croke Park. He will be hoping for a better result at home to Group D minnows San Marino on Wednesday.

It was a special occasion for two Rams players, who featured in the first international at the new Wembley Stadium.

Lee Camp ? who is on loan at Queens Park Rangers ? played 90 minutes for England under-21s in their 3-3 friendly draw against Italy under-21s. The Italians brought on Arturo Lupoli for the final half-hour of the 3-3 draw. The Italian`s went close to a winner late on and both players were involved. Camp parried a shot from his former team mate Lupoli but Pazzini, the Fiorentina striker cannot quite guide the ball home.
