With Fredrik Stoor’s loan set to end shortly Nigel Clough is keen to extend the Fulham defender’s spell.

The 25-year-old is currently recovering from an ankle injury so is doubtful for that match at Loftus Road but if Stoor can recover sooner rather than later Clough would like to extend the loan as he’s settled in well with the club.

“So long as Freddie is going to be fit a week after that game, we will look to extend the loan because he has settled in and done very well indeed.

There are only two games after QPR so if he is going to be fit for those, we will extend the loan. If he is going to be doubtful, then there will not be much point. We would then try to pick it up after the international break in November.

Freddie looks very comfortable on the ball and he is quick. We needed a little bit more pace in the side and even at right-back, it helps.

I think he has improved as each game has gone on.”

Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

Stoor, much like Clough said, has improved with each match so if we can get him back fit and can agree a deal with Fulham to extend it would be better to do this than look to bring in someone new on loan. We are able to have a continuity issue with the Swede if he stays.

The player himself has told the Swedish media how happy he is to have joined us on loan and the move, even though it involved dropping down a league, was the right one.
