Mason Mount with the FA Youth Cup he won with Chelsea in the 2016-17 season

Frank Lampard is said to keen on bringing attacking midfielder Mason Mount to Pride Park.

The 19-year-old looks to be a rising star and following a very good season on loan to Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie is a sought-after commodity, with several clubs after loaning him for the coming season.

The news comes from the Telegraph’s Midlands sports reporter John Percy, as he Tweets here:

Mount made 38 appearances for Vitesse whilst on loan last season, scoring an impressive 14 goals, as well as 10 assists. This has prompted Rams manager Frank Lampard to get in touch with his old club with a view to taking the talented youngster on loan for the season.

With several of Chelsea’s former coaches and staff already joining Frank Lampard at Derby, they could be the incentive for Mount to join up, especially with his old mentor Jody Morris, who managed the Chelsea youth team, which included Mount, to the 2016-17 FA Youth Cup win.
