There has been mixed news for Derby County`s Irish contingent ahead of the upcoming rounds of international games with two inclusions and one dropping out of their respective squads.

Jamie Ward returned to side in the 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the weekend and lasted for an hour but his hamstring injury has meant that he has withdrawn from the Northern Ireland squad for their World Cup Qualifiers against Russia and Israel. Ward has four caps to his name at the moment but after feeling his hamstring tighten on Saturday he will miss the clashes to undergo treatment in Derby.

Conor Sammon and Jeff Hendrick on the other hand have kept their places in the Republic of Ireland`s squad after being named in the provisional squad for their games with Sweden and Austria. With manager Giovanni Trapattoni trimming down his initial squad the pair have been given the chance to add to the caps picked up in the friendly victory against Poland earlier this year.
