Derby chairman Adam Pearson remains hopeful that a deal can be agreed with Exeter for Dean Moxey after positive negotiations over his proposed transfer.

An offer of around £200,000 plus add-ons was rejected but negotiations are going well with the newly promoted League One side.

“The negotiations have been positive and so is our relationship with Exeter.

‘They have been very professional in the way they have undertaken things and, hopefully, we can reach an agreement in the near future.

“Talks are ongoing and we will be looking to move them towards a positive conclusion.”

Exeter’s director of football Steve Perryman also backed up these views and paid tribute to Derby being a respectful club, but also confirmed that there isn’t anything new to report.

Both were talking to the Evening Telegraph.

The amount involved for the 23-year-old after these negotiations isn’t know but it is known that Nigel Clough is very keen to bring in Moxey, and if Clough is happy to bring him in then I’ll have faith in his judgement.
