Rams Vital football Man of the Match in the 2-1 victory against Norwich City, Stephen Bywater, was a little disappointed that the home fans booed him after a collision in the game at Carrow Road last night

Bywater was constantly jeered by some Canaries supporters, who thought he faked an injury in the 79th minute to waste time during the Rams victory. The Rams keeper went down holding his right knee after being caught late by Norwich striker Darren Huckerby, who was chasing a Tyrone Mears header back to the Rams keeper.

Bywater said: “He definitely caught me – I’ve got the marks on my knee to prove it.
“It was a 50-50 challenge, which was fair enough. The only thing I wasn’t happy with was their other forward, Chris Martin, who was saying Huckerby didn’t touch me.
“I didn’t really like that because I’m not a cheat. I’m a pretty tough person and I wouldn’t go down for no reason. The fans reaction was very disappointing, but I don’t really care what they think.”

Bywater was also disappointed he didn`t keep out Martin`s strike from the edge of the penalty area in the 52nd minute, which beat him at the near post and gave the home side the lead.

He said: “I should have saved the goal, it was my fault. It just went under me and I should have saved it.
“I`m man enough to admit it and I’m grateful to the other lads to get me out of trouble. Jonah pulled me out of the pit with his two goals and we hung on to win, at this time of the season it’s all about the results.
“We didn’t play particularly well in the first half and they were on top of us but we came out in the second half a different team and we pressured them and deserved what we got – the win.”

David Jones was the two goal hero in the match but Bywater produced a number of fine saves to keep the Rams in the game early, and his best was late on to deny former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin`s volley. The veteran’s strikers rising shot seemed destined for the top corner but Bywater was able to get a finger on it as the Rams held on for three valuable points.
