Nigel Clough completed his first signing of the January transfer window last night with the signing of Ben Davies on a permanent deal from Notts County with the player signing a two and a half year contract at Pride Park. After being linked with the attacking midfielder in the summer window Derby have finally completed a deal after agreeing a fee with Paul Ince`s side and Davies put pen to paper on his contract to complete what he described as a ‘dream move`. Talking to the official site about the transfer Davies said:

‘As much as I’m sad to leave Notts, I didn’t need much convincing to come here because the opportunity to play in front of 25-30,000 every week is only something you can only dream of and when Derby County come knocking on your door it is something you can’t turn down.

With Nigel Clough being the manager too, it really wasn’t a difficult decision to make. Everything about this move is perfect and it is a chance for me to show I am capable of playing at this level.’
