Football League figures show Derby have only paid £58,500 to agents during the past six months – the sixth lowest in the Championship.

A club spokeman explained: ‘We are constantly monitoring our costs throughout the business and agents payments form part of that policy.

‘Payments to agents will fluctuate depending on the amount of business the club undertakes.’
