Rams dissapointed

Mason Mount adds another stunning strike and goal to his tally at the expense of Brentford

Derby County was disappointed following yesterday’s game, but only with the opening few seconds of the game.

The Rams were 1-0 down after just 56 seconds against Brentford Yesterday. An unstoppable header from Henrick Dalsgaard. The glanced header from a corner beat Derby County keeper Scott Carson and nestled in the top right-hand corner of his goal.

Derby had not started well but the response was swift and devastating for Brentford. Derby warmed Brentford just minutes later when returning loanee Harry Wilson hit a shot from outside the penalty area which looked to be on its way into the goal before the Brentford keeper managed to divert it away with an outstanding one-handed save.

Derby were relentless in searching for the equaliser and it came in the 14th minute when a quick break and interchange of passes found Craig Bryson and Wilson in the Brentford penalty area. Bryson selflessly passing the ball to Wilson who had the relatively easy task of sidefooting the ball into the net.

Six minutes later David Nugent found himself running on to an inch-perfect ball and chipping the advancing Brentford keeper. Derby now in front and looking like scoring more goals.

The third and decisive Rams goal came in the 27th minute. A free kick awarded to the Rams in a central position outside the penalty area was lined up by Mason Mount. The promising England U21 midfielder hit an unstoppable curving ball around the wall and diving keeper to make it Derby County 3 Brentford 1 and despite more efforts by both sides that is how the score remained.

The returning Harry Wilson was interviewed on RamsTV after his triumphal return to the Rams starting line-up
